MUSIC AT THE CATHEDRAL |
Welcome! |
God has bestowed upon His people the gift of song. For generations, people throughout the world have praised and glorified God in song God dwells within each human person, in the place where music finds its source and inspiration. Indeed, God, the Giver of song and voice, is present whenever His people sing His praises.
Music ministry is a very important part of the liturgical life of the Cathedral. Just as the Church, our Mother, earnestly desires that all of its children should be led to full, conscious and active participation in liturgical celebrations rightly demanded by the very nature of divine worship, it also calls on individuals to participate in music ministry so that these celebrations may be enhanced. |

Concerts & Recitals |
Beginning in 2012, the Cathedral will become the venue for the new Concerts in the Cathedral classical music series. Concerts in the Cathedral will feature the newly-formed St. Cecilia Orchestra & Chorus, two professional music ensembles established and sponsored by the Italo-Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of the Americas and Canada through a donor-specified gift endowment.
Also beginning in 2012 will be the Cathedral’s “Mozart in May” Sunday afternoon concert series. Concerts will be held in the Cathedral Lady Garden and Courtyard every Sunday afternoon during the month of May. |
